Getting started

How do I import my first recipe?
Go to Import → paste a URL from any recipe website, Instagram post, YouTube video, or upload a PDF cookbook. Recipe Manager extracts the ingredients and instructions automatically using AI. It takes about 10 seconds.
Which sources can I import from?
Websites (100+ supported out of the box), Instagram reels and posts, YouTube videos, TikTok videos, PDF cookbooks, Word documents, plain text, and camera photos of handwritten recipes.
Why do I need an account?
Your recipes, meal plans, and preferences are stored in your account so you can access them from any device. You can export or delete your data anytime from Settings.

Pricing & plans

What is included in the free plan?
The free plan includes 5 recipes, 3 imports per month, basic meal planning, and shopping list. It is ad-free and has no time limit.
How does the free trial work?
When you subscribe to Pro or Family, you get 14 days free. No credit card is charged until the trial ends. Cancel anytime before day 14 and you will not be charged.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Open Settings → Manage billing to cancel. You keep access until the end of your billing period.
Do you offer refunds?
EU customers have a 14-day right of withdrawal. Outside the EU, we do not offer refunds for subscription fees but you can cancel anytime.

Cooking mode

How do I use hands-free cooking mode?
Open any recipe and click "Start cooking". Click the microphone icon to enable voice control. Say "next", "back", "done", or "timer 5 minutes" to control the recipe hands-free.
Can I swipe between steps?
Yes. On mobile, swipe left to advance to the next step, swipe right to go back. Keyboard arrows also work on desktop.
Does the screen stay on while cooking?
Yes. Cooking mode uses the Wake Lock API to keep your screen on while you cook, so you do not need to tap the screen to prevent it from sleeping.

Privacy & data

Do you sell my data?
No. We never sell or rent your data. See our Privacy Policy for the full list of sub-processors we use to operate the service.
How do I export my data?
Go to Settings → Danger Zone → Export data. You get a single JSON file with all your recipes, meal plans, collections, and notes.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → Danger Zone → Delete account. You will be asked to confirm and re-enter your password. All data is permanently deleted within 30 days.
Is my content used to train AI?
No. We do not use your recipes to train AI models. When you import a recipe, the text/image is sent to an AI provider (Claude/OpenAI/Gemini) for parsing, but the providers do not train on it.

Troubleshooting

My import failed. What do I do?
Some sources are harder to parse (heavy JavaScript, dynamic content, or posts without recipe text). Try pasting the recipe text directly via the Paste tab, or upload a screenshot via the Camera tab.
Voice control is not working.
Voice control requires microphone permission and works best in Chrome or Safari. Make sure you allowed microphone access when prompted.
I did not receive my password reset email.
Check your spam folder. If it is not there, the email might take a few minutes. Still missing? Contact support@recipe-manager.app.
