Terms of Service

Last Updated: July 17, 2026

1. Who we are and what you are agreeing to

These Terms of Service are a contract between you and Recipe Manager, the operator of www.recipe-manager.app (the "Service"). The operator's identity and contact details are stated in our Privacy Policy. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The Service is a personal recipe manager: it lets you import recipes (from links, photos, PDFs or pasted text), organize them into your own recipe book, plan meals, build shopping lists, and cook with a hands-free cooking mode.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service (or 16 where your local law sets a higher minimum for consenting to online services).
  • To purchase a subscription you must have reached the age of contractual majority in your country, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
  • One account per person. Sharing account credentials is prohibited and may result in termination.

3. Your license to use the Service

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes. The software, design, and branding of the Service remain ours.

4. Plans, pricing and billing

All prices are in US dollars (USD). The Service offers three plans:

  • Free — $0. Up to 5 active recipes, 5 AI credits per month, 1 meal plan, shopping list. No payment method required, no time limit.
  • Pro — $9.99 USD/month, or $95.88 USD/year (equivalent to $7.99/month). Unlimited recipes, 40 AI credits per month, unlimited meal plans, hands-free cooking mode, sync across devices.
  • Family — $19.99 USD/month, or $199.00 USD/year. Everything in Pro, plus a shared household pool of 90 AI credits per month for up to 6 household members in total (the account owner plus 5), shared collections, shopping lists and meal plans.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe through our web checkout. We do not bill through Apple or Google, and there is no app-store subscription to manage.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual) until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in Settings → Billing (or via the Stripe billing portal); cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period and you keep access until then.
  • Applicable taxes, where required by law, may be added or included as indicated at checkout.
  • If we change prices, we will tell you clearly in advance and the change will apply from your next billing period at the earliest.

5. AI credits

AI credits are the unit the Service uses to measure automated recipe imports. Different import types consume different amounts of credits, as shown in the product before you import.

  • Monthly plan credits (5 Free / 40 Pro / 90 Family shared) refresh at the start of each billing month and do not roll over.
  • Purchased top-up credits (for example, 10 credits for $3.99 USD) are valid until the end of the UTC calendar month in which you buy them; the exact expiry date is shown at purchase.
  • Promotional credits we grant (for example, welcome credits) may carry their own, shorter expiry, shown when granted.
  • If an import fails on our side, the credit it consumed is automatically returned.
  • If a payment is refunded, the credits it purchased are removed.
  • Credits have no monetary value, are not transferable, and cannot be redeemed for cash except where the law requires otherwise.

6. Refunds and the EU 14-day withdrawal right

  • Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are not refundable. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not refund the current period.
  • If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, you may withdraw from a subscription purchase within 14 days without giving a reason — see our withdrawal form. Nothing in these Terms limits that right.
  • Mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence (for example, those enforced by PROFECO in Mexico) are not affected by these Terms.

7. Your content and recipe sharing

You own the content you add to the Service — your recipes, photos, notes and plans ("Your Content"). We need a limited license to operate the Service on your behalf:

  • You grant Recipe Manager a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display and adapt (for example, reformat or structure) Your Content, solely to operate, secure and improve the Service. This license is sublicensable only to the infrastructure providers listed in our subprocessors page, for those same purposes.
  • You represent that you have the necessary rights to the content you add or import, and that you import third-party content for your personal use.
  • If you choose to make a recipe public, you additionally grant Recipe Manager the right to display it in public areas of the Service (with its source attribution preserved), and you grant other users a non-exclusive license to view it and save a copy to their own recipe book.
  • If you unpublish or delete a public recipe, it stops being offered publicly; copies other users already saved to their books remain theirs.
  • When you delete your account, our license to Your Content ends and your data is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy, except for the limited backup window described there.

8. Acceptable use and termination

You agree not to:

  • upload or publish content that is unlawful, infringing, or harmful;
  • abuse, manipulate or defraud the credit system or any promotional mechanic;
  • scrape, resell, or provide automated third-party access to the Service;
  • interfere with the security or operation of the Service.

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time in Settings → Data. We may suspend or terminate accounts that materially violate these Terms; unless the violation is severe or unlawful, we will warn you first. If we terminate your paid account without cause, we will refund the unused part of your current period.

9. Importing from third-party sites

  • The import tools act at your direction, as a tool: you choose what to import, and you are responsible for having the right to import it for your personal use.
  • Recipe Manager is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Meta, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Google, or any recipe website you import from.
  • Availability of any particular source can change at any time and is not guaranteed.

10. Automated processing and content accuracy

  • Recipe import features (from URL, photo, PDF or text) process data in the cloud solely to structure it into a recipe.
  • Our processing providers do not use your personal content to train their models.
  • Automatically generated content can contain errors. Always verify recipes — especially quantities, temperatures and cooking times — before relying on them.

11. Copyright complaints (DMCA)

We respect intellectual property rights and respond to valid takedown notices. To report copyright infringement, use our takedown form or write to our designated copyright agent at support@recipe-manager.app.

  • If your content was removed and you believe the removal was a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice with the information required by 17 U.S.C. §512(g) via the same form; we will forward it to the original claimant and may restore the content in 10–14 business days unless they file a court action.
  • We terminate the accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.

12. Nutritional disclaimer

  • All nutritional values (calories, protein, macros) are estimates only.
  • The Service is not a substitute for professional dietary, medical, or clinical advice.
  • If you have allergies or medical conditions, independently verify all ingredients and values before consumption.

13. Family plan and other people’s data

If you invite household members (up to 6 people in total, you plus 5), you are responsible for having their consent to invite them. Their data is processed according to our Privacy Policy. Each member controls their own account.

14. Changes to the Service and these Terms

We may modify the Service and these Terms. If a change to these Terms or to pricing is material, we will notify you clearly (in the product or by email) before it takes effect, and price changes apply from your next billing period at the earliest. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept it.

15. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

  • The Service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.
  • To the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
  • Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded by law, nor your mandatory rights as a consumer.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Mexico. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence, and you may bring claims before your local consumer authority (for example, PROFECO in Mexico). We encourage you to contact support@recipe-manager.app first — most issues are resolved quickly.
